I can’t swim. I have tried at various points throughout childhood and adulthood to learn, all with a fairly similar level of success and apparently insurmountable latent fear. I understand the concept of swimming. I am, or least was several years ago, a medical physicist. I understand the science of buoyancy, and I know I should be able to float. Trust within relationships is sacred.  When it is broken the dynamics of a relationship are changed forever. Looking in from the outside, we can be quick to judge betrayals of trust, and lay the blame at the feet of the cheater, while viewing the spouse as an innocent victim.
